In those early days of the pandemic, when the usual hum of our work fell silent and uncertainty filled the days, we found strength in something we had quietly built over the years: community.
We didn’t have a map, but we had each other—and that was enough.
Not just customers. Not just colleagues. What we had was something deeper - a rooted, resilient network of people who showed up for each other. In the face of the unknown, words weren’t needed. We moved forward together, one stem at a time, guided by trust, faith and the kind of quiet determination that only comes from hared purpose. We didn’t have a map, but we had each other—and that was enough. Our team stood tall, covering for one another without hesitation. Our customers stayed close, showing unwavering support. And our vendors, near and far, kept us connected to the world.
One of the most meaningful reflections of that spirit came during the L.E.A.F. Flower Show—a long-awaited project nearly canceled by COVID yet brought to life against all odds. It became one of the most beautiful collaborations we’ve ever experienced. Each team member added something unique to the design, and together, we created something that felt truly special, something so moving it was featured in Vogue, "When One Million Flowers Came to the Meatpacking District."
In partnership with Kay from Kesanee Designs and Paul from Spina Events, we crafted an installation that served as a global symbol of healing. Wrapped in moss and blooming with peonies, tulips, roses, and proteas from around the world, it stood as a quiet reminder: even in our most fractured moments, flowers have the power to connect, restore, and speak when words fall short.
Van Vliet New York, “Where Creativity Flowers” isn’t just a tagline—it’s a way of life. A place where creativity is celebrated, relationships matter, and support is always in full bloom. We are honored to walk alongside our customers through every season of growth.
